The Fairfield County Auditor’s Office is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2024 Weights and Measures Excellence Awards. Six agricultural businesses throughout Fairfield County as well as the Fairfield County Agricultural Society and Bay Market/Bay Packing were recognized for their exemplary customer service, dedication to fairness in the marketplace, and excellent accuracy with Weights & Measures.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY AUDITOR TO HOST SECOND ANNUAL FREE REAL ESTATE SUMMIT “SERVING THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED” WITH 2.5 HOURS OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
The Fairfield County Auditor’s Office is pleased to announce the office will be hosting its second annual Real Estate Summit titled “Serving Those Who Have Served.” This summit is focused on equipping real estate professionals and others with tools needed to serve Veterans. The Ohio Department of Commerce has approved 2.5 hours of continuing education for real estate and professional licensing. Local leaders and subject matter experts are scheduled to present.

The Fairfield County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to determine the necessity for establishing, altering, or improving public roads, bridges, culverts, or drainage areas. The viewings of the proposed improvements will be as indicated below; and hearings will be held on September 24, 2024, 9:15 a.m. at the Administrative Courthouse, 210 E. Main St., Commissioners’ Hearing Room, Lancaster, OH 43130.
FAIRFIELD COUNTY AUDITOR’S OFFICE RELEASES A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
The Fairfield County Auditor, in cooperation with multiple Fairfield County departments who manage the minor subdivision processes, is releasing a Request for Information (RFI) to gather information and identify an on-line program to manage the review and approval process for minor subdivision applications, known as lot splits.

The Fairfield County Auditor’s Office is pleased to announce an updated website for the Homestead Exemption Program. This website includes an overview of the state’s property tax reduction program, income eligibility requirements, links to forms, and a thorough FAQ section.
FAIRFIELD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ANNOUNCE 10% DISCOUNT FOR SENIOR CITIZENS AND VETERANS
The Fairfield County Commissioners are proud to offer a new discount program designed to assist senior citizens and veteran customers of utility services. The Senior and Veteran Assistance (SAVA) Program will provide qualifying customers with a 10% monthly reduction on water and sewer services.
COUNTY AUDITOR EARNS AUDITOR OF DISTINCTION CERTIFICATE FROM STATE ASSOCIATION
On June 7, 2023, Dr. Carri Brown, Fairfield County Auditor, was honored as an “Auditor of Distinction” by the County Auditors’ Association of Ohio. County Auditors are eligible for a certificate as an “Auditor of Distinction” for each elected term they serve once they have earned at least 100 hours of continuing professional education credit. At the Summer Conference for County Auditors, Brown was one of two County Auditors in the state to be named an “Auditor of Distinction.

On Friday, May 17, 2024, Dr. Carri L. Brown, Fairfield County Auditor, was awarded Recognition of Distinction from Ohio University Lancaster. Dr. Pam Kaylor and Dr. Candice Thomas-Maddox, both Communication Studies Professors at Ohio University, presented the honor in recognition of Dr. Brown’s “invaluable contribution as a Leadership Educator for the 2022-2024 Women’s Leadership Summit.” The Leadership Summit was a comprehensive training program designed for women to establish and enhance leadership skills.
PROTECTING OHIO’S VETERANS: FAIRFIELD COUNTY RECORDER LISA MCKENZIE CAUTIONS VETERANS TO BE AWARE OF EXPLOITATIVE PRACTICES
Fairfield County Recorder, Lisa McKenzie, and the Ohio Recorders’ Association (ORA) urges Veterans to be aware of exploitative practices targeting Military Veterans who are being charged for services that are available for free. DD214 Direct, a company based in Arizona, is currently soliciting veterans in Ohio to purchase a copy of their DD214 form for a fee ranging from $79 to $99. While this practice may be legal, Recorder McKenzie and other County Recorders across Ohio want to ensure that Veterans are informed about the free services they are entitled to.
